DRY ICE CLEANING WITH KEGS MOBILE BLASTING

Are there alternative cleaning options for your project? What cleaning qualities are most important to you? In our experience, many companies want to eliminate the use of chemicals, abrasives, and water. Keg’s Mobile Blasting dry ice services focus on the removal of those elements. Dry Ice cleaning is unmatched in its versatility, going where other cleaning and surface prep techniques cannot. Our services efficiently remove contaminants of varying substances, sizes, and degrees of soiling from nearly any surface with great precision.

Dry ice blasting accelerates solid carbon dioxide (CO2) pellets through a pressurized air stream which sublimate on impact. When the subzero dry ice pellets contact the surface, they expand and lift away the residue. This thermal shock can not only remove contaminants but also may kill bacteria leaving nothing behind.

ADVANTAGES OF DRY ICE

  • ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE

This media is extremely friendly to the environment because it does not create any secondary waste, uses recycled CO2, and replaces the use of toxic chemicals. The sublimation of CO2 does not contribute to the greenhouse effect.

  • NON-TOXIC

It does not utilize chemicals or solvents. It is even approved by the FDA, EPA, and USDA. Performed in open spaces does not create risk or hazard for operators. Costs associated with disposal are reduced as well.

  • NON-ABRASIVE

Traditional sandblasting “grinds” the surface removing the contaminant and marring the surface. The thermal effect lifts away contaminants without damaging the substrate.

  • NON-CONDUCTIVE

This media is safe on electrical components and can reach tight spaces. It is also nonflammable. This eliminates the need to dismantle machinery decreasing downtime and getting you back to service quickly. In fact, most equipment can be cleaned without complete shutdown if proper safety procedures are followed.

  • NO RESIDUE

Dry ice dissipates into the air significantly reducing clean-up and there is no dry time. Removed coatings and contaminants can be swept or vacuumed up. Improved cleanliness and efficiency of this media benefit your bottom line.

INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY

Molds and dyes can be cleaned “online” at operating temperature with this media.
